We were asked to produce a roof with side panelling to provide protection from the elements for skaters but allow as much daylight in as possible.
20m wide and 30m long with walls 4.3m high, the structure covers the entire ice rink.
The ice rink is bright and well lit even on the shortest December days thanks to its single-layer translucent PVC roof. As it was erected in the depths of winter, a rain gutter system with downspouts collected and channelled rainwater from the roof.
