HR Structures has supplied a storage warehouse to Syntegon, a leading global technology company and strategic lifecycle partner to the pharmaceutical, biotech, and food industries.
The 10 x 15m storage building was built on an existing concrete car park on site in just two and a half days. The company was installing racking while the final shutter door was being installed and immediately loading the shelving from forklifts once it was in place.
At its Bristol site, Syntegon designs, manufactures and distributes secondary packaging machinery through its Kliklok brand. These endload and topload cartoners, wraparound sleevers and product handling equipment are widely used in the bakery, snack, cereal, frozen, refrigerated foods and confectionery industries.
With increasing demand, the company took the strategic decision to reduce their existing storage capability and use the space to expand their machine-building. With a requirement for replacement storage solutions and the need for more room for semi-built machines from China, various options were considered.
Permanent building solutions were looked at but an aluminium-framed temporary storage solution from HR Structures was eventually chosen as the simplest and fastest solution. Planning for these temporary buildings is simpler and they can be dismantled, moved and reassembled. They’re also less intrusive and don’t need dedicated foundations.
A 10 x 15m insulated building was designed, manufactured and delivered by HR Structures. The warehouse was supplied with a single roller shutter door for loading and unloading, and was erected on an existing concrete car park on site in just two and a half days.
A member of the team at Syntegon team responsible for managing the process said, ‘It was a very smooth sequence of events to get the building in place and we started using the facility immediately. It’s been so successful that we’re already looking to expand the building.’
